Porsche
Porsche is the marque we move most often, and the detail that matters is model-specific: a GT3 and a Taycan share almost nothing at the ramp.

Carrying a Porsche
Lift travel is not consistent across the range and assuming it is will cost a splitter. A 992 with the factory front-axle lift raises about 40 mm; the GT3 and GT3 RS system raises about 30 mm. Both are speed-limited and retract on their own once the car is moving. On a GT3 the front overhang is longer and the splitter sits further forward than on a Carrera, so the number that matters is the distance from splitter edge to first contact on the ramp, not published ground clearance. A Carrera GT has no lift at all; it loads on a level deck, extended ramps, with a spotter at the nose.
Rear weight bias on the rear-engined cars sits around 39/61, which changes where the car is positioned on the deck and how it behaves under braking on a wet steel ramp. Axle loads are worked out before the car moves. Cup 2 and Cup 2 R tires are common on the GT cars and are not designed to be stored or driven near freezing; they take a flat spot on a cold overnight transit and need to be rolled and warmed gradually at the far end. PCCB discs give less cold bite than steel at load-in speed.
Taycan and Macan Electric travel at a specified state of charge. Securement is soft loop over the tire at four points, with nothing bearing on the sill, the plastic undertray, or the front lip.

The marque
Ferdinand Porsche opened a design consultancy in Stuttgart in 1931. The first car to carry the name, the 356, was built at Gmünd in 1948. The 911 followed in 1963 and has been in production since.
Sports-car production remains at Zuffenhausen. The range now covers rear-engined sports cars, front-engined SUVs and battery-electric models, which is a wider spread of handling requirements than any other marque on this list.
