McLaren
Every road McLaren is a carbon tub with dihedral doors, marked lift points, and a twelve-volt system that discharges faster than most owners expect.

Carrying a McLaren
Dihedral doors rotate forward and outward before they rise, so they need lateral clearance as well as height — more than any enclosed trailer provides once the car is centered and shored. Our procedure has the driver out of the car before it enters the box and back in only once it is off. No door opens between the trailer walls.
The factory vehicle lift raises the nose about 40 mm and takes several seconds to reach full height, so it is engaged and confirmed at full travel before the front wheels touch the ramp break, never mid-climb. The 765LT and Senna carry front aero lower than a 750S splitter and want additional ramp length on top of that. Lift and jacking points are marked from the factory — pads just inboard of the front guide vanes on the tub, and the exposed aluminum runners at the rear. No load goes onto the carbon monocoque anywhere else, and nothing bears on the sill, which is the structure the occupant steps over.
Battery is the recurring failure point on this marque. McLaren specifies leaving the supplied conditioner connected through the accessory socket in the luggage compartment whenever the car is not in regular use, and the lithium unit is not interchangeable with a lead-acid tender. Any transit over a day travels on the conditioner. Carbon-ceramic discs are standard and cold at load-in. Securement is soft loop over the tire at four points.

The marque
Bruce McLaren founded a racing team in 1963. Road cars began with the F1 in 1992, restarted as McLaren Automotive in 2010, and every one since has been built around a carbon-fiber monocoque.
Assembly is at Woking; the tubs have been produced at the company's own composites plant in South Yorkshire since 2018. The current range is hybrid across the Artura and the W1.
